About Jake:
Jake Dunne is the morning and noon meteorologist for
WLNS
TV in
Lansing, Michigan. Before moving to
Michigan in late 2005, Jake was the chief meteorologist for
KTWO in
Casper,
Wyoming. Jake was born in
Kansas and spent the better part of 20 years there, but between
now and then he has called several different areas of the country home.
Jake graduated from
Mississippi
State with a degree in Atmospheric Science. He began his TV
career in
Wichita,
Kansas (his home town) at the CBS affiliate where he worked as
a forecaster and weather producer. From there, Jake moved to
Myrtle Beach,
South Carolina and took a position at WBTW as a weekend
meteorologist. Before calling Michigan home, Jake also made
stops in
Colorado and in
Iowa where he worked as a morning meteorologist for KCAU. In
January of 2003, Jake was awarded the AMS Seal of Approval for his outstanding
weather presentations.

Jake
took a minor detour from the world of television weather for about a year. He
decided to put his skis and his literary talent to the test when he accepted a
position at Winter Park Ski Resort in
Colorado. While at the resort, Jake gave guided tours of the
mountain to visiting media and wrote numerous press releases and articles
pertaining to
Winter Park.
Jake spends his free time outdoors. Whether it's golf, snow
skiing, or a trip to the lake, Jake loves being outside. Jake is a 1st Class
certified personal fitness trainer and can be found in the gym on most
afternoons, unless of course he's working on his next novel.
His true love isn't weather, writing or skiing
though, that honor goes to his son, Brady, and his daughter, Addison. Jake
resides in Michigan with his wife, children and chocolate Lab, Disney.
